About

The Stonyfield & Organic Valley Partnership

Stonyfield and Organic Valley have worked together over the past fifteen years, sharing an unwavering commitment to the survival and growth of organic farming, sustainability, and protecting the planet for future generations. All of the milk used in making Stonyfield yogurt comes from the Organic Valley/CROPP co-operative. What's more, both organizations are aligned in their values and mission to support organic family farms and increase organic education.
Wholesome Wave works to provide federal food assistance benefit recipients the opportunity and incentive to shop at farmers markets where they can purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables. Wholesome Wave’s programs are working as we speak; they are active in over 25 states, with over 45 partners, over 250 markets and over 1700 participating farmers.
Wholesome Wave programs are designed to make nutritious, locally grown food available and affordable to America’s underserved urban and rural communities. The Double Value Coupon Program (DVCP) uses private donations to double the value of federal food assistance benefits when spent at farmers markets. Farmers benefit by being introduced to new shoppers with considerable buying power. The Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program (FVRx) provides doctors and clinicians the financial resources they need to prescribe enough fruits and vegetables for an entire at risk family to increase their consumption of locally grown fruits and vegetables daily. Health Care providers can actually back advice to their patients with the resources to provide meaningful prevention. Both programs provide Americans in need with the ability to choose nutritious, locally grown foods to feed their families, while introducing the American farmer to a market demand. Wholesome Wave programs foster linkages between farmers and those in need by demonstrating significant demand for healthful, locally grown foods in America’s underinvested communities.
